Description

Taakchu Monastery perched atop Avalokitshvara Hill in the three mountains (Mi Ri Phuensum) of Haa valley, is steeped in a profound history and cultural significance. Recognised as the principal seat of Vaishravana, the Lord of Wealth, the monastery earned the name Takchu Goenpa, representing a continuous flow of blessings in wealth and Dharma.

It was built in the 14th century to protect against possible threats from the north. Apart from its cultural and spiritual importance, Takchu Goenpa has a special treat for visitors - a stunning view of Jomolhari mountain. This magnificent mountain is one of Bhutan's highest, making the scenery even more breathtaking. Takchu Goemba continues to be a seat of a rich cultural and spiritual legacy.
