Nestled amidst the serene landscape of Haa valley stands Yangthang Goemba, a monastery with a history dating back to the 14th century. Built by the visionary Lam Thinley Jamtsho, this sacred place carries a unique tale of a rare flower. Legend has it that a devoted disciple brought two special flowers he acquired during his alms-seeking excursion and planted them in different locations. One of the flowers withered away. Guided by a dream, he concluded that the surviving flower was destined for the area where the temple now sits. It is believed to bloom on the 15th day of the fourth month in the Lunar calendar.
